The BEAMS Study
The Belongingness, Exclusion, And Meth and Sex (BEAMS) Study is looking to understand how online belongingness and exclusion affect the methamphetamine use of gay, bi, and queer men (GBQM).
Recruitment for this study has now concluded
Are you Eligible to Participate?
Do you identify as a gay, bisexual, or queer man? Have you used methamphetamine recently? Have you had sex with a man in the past 6 months? Are you 18 years of age or older? Do you live in Canada or the United States? Are you fluent in English?

If you responded "YES" to these questions, then you may be eligible to participate in the study!

What Will You Be Asked to Do?
If you are eligible, you will be asked to complete an online survey that takes most people about 20-minutes to complete. As an incentive to participate, participants will have the option of being entered into a lottery to win a $50 or $25 Amazon gift card OR to have $5 donated to a charity by the researchers on your behalf.

How will my Identity be Protected?
To enter the Amazon gift card lottery, receive email updates about the results of the BEAMS Study (optional), or to be contacted about future research projects (optional), you will need to enter a valid email address. However, your email address will be stored on a secure server and will remain separate from your responses to the online study survey. All survey responses are completely anonymous. Further details about the study and your participation can be found in the consent form.
